Plastic bags and packaging

Bag of Bags came about as a solution to use up the pile of re-usable plastic bags that had stockpiled from ‘lockdown’ deliveries and save them from ending up in land-fill.

The irony of making a bag out of bags, ie. making something out of something that it was already intended for as well as the scale of the finished piece brings humor and fun to Amy’s practice. Plastic bags are objects that everyone can relate to - they are both friend and foe. Bag of Bags points out the usefulness and materiality of plastic while also highlighting its destructive excess in our lives.
